Summer message from the National President July 2017

We are now a CIO!

We have now produced our summer edition of the newsletter. I was at one point considering calling it the Autumn edition, just because I was beginning to doubt whether Summer was ever going to arrive! But it is here now and I hope you have been able to find some time to enjoy the unusually warm weather of late.

It seems the country goes from one tragedy to the next at the moment so can I ask you all to take a moment to remember those victims of the Grenfell Tower fire and of course the victims of Westminster Bridge and Manchester.

May they Rest in Peace.

I have been buoyed by the tremendous energy and passion amongst our members as I have been visiting you these past few months. I have been able to get to a number of Branches and Sections and have been involved in AGMs, 60th celebrations and even a 90th celebration! Your feedback as I visit is most welcome and I will continue to listen and respond to your challenges and concerns.

The end of this month sees a new milestone in the CWL’s history. As you all know we embarked upon our journey to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).  It has been a long and sometimes stressful experience but I am pleased to say, with the guidance from the Holy Spirit, we will achieve our goal and on the 30th June 2017 we will be CWL (CIO). Many of you have helped and provided guidance and I would like to thank you all for your support you have given on this matter. In particular, our National Secretary, National Treasurer, and our past National President, the Charity Solicitor and our ever patient Accountant who have all played vital roles in helping us achieve our goals.

Once again, my personal thanks to you all and I look forward to seeing you all in at the Hayes Conference Centre for the AGM in October.

God Bless

Margaret Valentine, National President

National President
