About Us
CWL is a worldwide organisation, united in friendship and love where members use and develop their talents in projects for the world, the nation, the diocese and the parish.
Who are we?
Catholic Women with a Catholic voice – Caring with Love
What do we do?
The League is involved in charitable work of all kinds. Members endeavour to exert influence in those issues rooted in social justice and peace and particularly seek to make the voice of Catholic women heard in the legislative system on issues of the Family. The League offers members the opportunity to develop and learn new skills, enabling them to fulfil their mission of service to one another, to their parish and to the church.
Could the Catholic Women’s League be for me?
Yes! The League has a positive voice for good in the Church today and you could be a part of that. As a member you will find fresh interests, make new friends and discover opportunities that will enable you to make a real difference and play an important role in church and society.
Do come along and join other Catholic women on a journey of faith and friendship. To apply for membership and for further information, please contact the National Secretary.

The Catholic Women’s League Prayers – to be said at all meetings and gatherings of members
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy spirit and they shall be created.
And thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
O God who hast taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that by the gift of the same Spirit we may be always truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation, through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Grant, O Lord, that the members of the Catholic Women’s League may ever work for the glory of Thy Church that guided by the Holy Spirit and under the Patronage of Thy Immaculate Mother in Charity, Work and Loyalty the League may unite souls in Thy service on earth, and to Thee in Thy heavenly kingdom.
Amen
O God, who didst raise up the glorious Martyr Saint Margaret Clitherow
to be a pattern of womanhood, mercifully grant us the grace
to walk in her ways and win the crown of the blessed.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Saint Margaret Clitherow and her Fellow Martyrs, pray for us.
Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Lord of Life, bless and be with all the members of
the Catholic Women’s League.
Guide us in using and developing the talents
You have given us, so that, with a strong
and positive outlook, we may continue
the work established by our founder,
Margaret Fletcher.
Help us to be guided by her example
so we may be committed in our work for others,
caring in our acts of charity and
loyal to our fellow members.
May we go forward in prayer and thanksgiving,
always seeking to see Your presence in everyone we meet.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
