September saw over thirty members of Brentwood Branch meet outside Westminster Abbey on one of the hottest days of the year. Joanne Bogle led an historic walk to Westminster Cathedral. Fortunately, she stuck to shady areas and talked under the trees in St James Park. She has amazing knowledge and gave us a whistlestop tour through British history. We were honoured guests at Mass at the Cathedral and afterwards had a tour including seeing a beautiful cross donated by the CWL to the Cathedral. The tour was postponed from last year when there was a rail strike and Queen Elizabeth had just died. This year we had a great time. The Cathedral is well worth a visit.
