Jersey Section Celebrate VE Day 2025

While the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe was celebrated throughout the UK on 8th May, in the Channel Islands (the only part of the UK to be occupied by the Germans during WW2), the Liberation is always celebrated on 9th May and is a Bank Holiday. In Jersey, a special badge was designed for the event and replicated on lapel pins and flags flying from houses, public buildings and along streets across the Island. The special guest at the celebrations was Lord Soames (grandson to Sir Winston Churchill’s).
