Social

An important part of life as a CWL member is having fun. The lockdown period made everyone appreciate how important it is to have the company of others and our members value the camaraderie and that develops through meeting together.

Catholic Women’s League activities are a mixture of spiritual, charitable, educational and social so, apart from the simple pleasure of sharing a cup of tea and a chat, members ensure they have a varied programme that includes events such as quiz or games evenings, afternoon teas, craft-making or outings.

Our national events have a large element of fun as well and the members are even known to partake in the odd session of group karaoke! We have also enjoyed such frivolous activities as decorating Jubilee-themed hats, taking part in indoor ‘Olympic Games’, holding barn dances and ensuring that an element of our day includes laughter.

Zoom has allowed us further opportunities to get together from the comfort of our own homes and our ‘Wine o’clock’ sessions and film evenings have proved popular, bringing members from across the country together to enjoy one another’s company.
